About For Pet Tips
Practical pet care guidance, written for the people who look after animals every day.
Our Mission
At For Pet Tips, our mission is simple: help every pet live a longer, healthier, happier life. We believe that well-informed pet owners make better caregivers β and that every animal deserves knowledgeable, compassionate care.
Whether you're preparing for your first puppy or setting up a reptile enclosure, we aim to explain what matters, why it matters, and when it is time to ask a veterinarian.
How We Started
For Pet Tips was created to close a common gap in online pet care content: too much vague, generic advice and not enough practical, species-specific guidance that readers can actually use in everyday routines.
We are building a well-organized library covering dogs, cats, birds, fish, horses, small pets, reptiles, health, and training in one place. The library is growing β if there is a topic you would like us to cover, let us know.
Who Writes Our Guides
Articles are written and edited by the For Pet Tips editorial team. We are pet owners and writers rather than a veterinary practice, so we build each guide on published guidance from recognised organisations such as the AVMA, ASPCA, RSPCA and the Merck Veterinary Manual, and we link to those sources so you can check them yourself.
Where advice depends on an individual animal β diet changes for a pet with a medical condition, for example β we say so clearly and recommend speaking with your veterinarian.
Our Editorial Standards
Every article on For Pet Tips is written with these principles in mind:
Practical Writing
Articles are written to help readers turn broad pet-care advice into clear daily routines.
Reference-Backed
Writers compare recognized veterinary and animal-welfare resources when building educational guides.
Updated Over Time
Guides are revisited when recommendations change, and each article shows when it was last updated.
